Whether on a classic ride, a brevet or a multi-day excursion wool shorts are so much more than a throwback classic. The principle advantage of wool over all other cycling textiles is that it is naturally antibacterial, and when thinking of the human body as an eco-system, that counts for less odor, less infection and better health. Coupled with the fact that wool is vastly more breathable than compressive lycra and you’ve got shorts that are excellent for all riding.
Our wool is a technical knit with mechanical elasticity and compression. When washed or wet the shorts will tighten substantially, specifically engineered to avoid the dreaded ‘wool-short-sag’. After several wearings the shorts will adjust to the riders body, but will again be rejuvenated and tightened with a quick wash. As such, we recommend ensuring that the shorts are very fitted but not overly tight when first fit for size, as after the first wash the shorts will tighten and compress. Our wool shorts feature an elastic waist and silicon thigh grippers to keep everything in its place.
Our chamois is a supreme antibacterial chamois designed in Italy for long duration rides. It is a four-way stretch chamois made with a 3d cell top fabric, air-flow, ultra-high 120 foam and perforated backing for maximum breathability and to ensure comfort for hours in the saddle.
For best longevity we recommend using these shorts with smooth surface saddles (such as a Brooks saddle or any standard microtex surfaced saddle. Saddles with abundant textures or embroidery — such as some offerings from Prologo — will increase wear.

Hand wash in cold water with minimal wool-safe soap. Squeeze out as much water as possible without wringing the garment. Lay flat to dry in a warm, dry place (preferred), or gently drape the garment from the center over a clothesline in the sun. Do NOT put it in the dryer. Note: Harsh sunlight will fade some colours over time as is common.
Refreshing your garment: Wool garments don't need to be washed after every single use because the wool's lanolin is bacteria resistant. Less washing is the most effective way to reduce associated environmental impacts of our clothing. Instead, hang your garment in the gentle evening sun after your ride or refresh it after wearing by hanging it in a steamy bathroom. It will be surprisingly odour-free and ready for your next ride.
