OUR MANIFESTO
We believe that bicycles can revolutionize the world and that they are some of the best tools we have to combat climate change and the environmental crisis. We know from peer-reviewed science that petroleum extracted from the lithosphere, and the resulting carbon emitted into the biosphere, is having catastrophic effects on the livability of our planet. Petroleum - as fuel, as chemicals, as textiles, as microplastics, as emissions – is poisoning the base conditions that support life. The most effective solution to these issues will be transitioning, as fast as possible, to a lifestyle and society that are zero-petroleum.
We believe in individual action and human creativity. We believe that there are innovative solutions to our current unsustainable, petroleum-dependent lifestyle. We believe that all of the solutions we need are within the biosphere and not petroleum-based, bio-accumulating plastics, chemicals and fuels.
We believe in simple, powerful solutions and that if every kilometer travelled was human powered, we wouldn’t be in this mess.

GARMENT DESIGN
STRATEGY #1 - ZERO PETROLEUM TEXTILES
Elimination / Reduction of Petroleum-based content from our textiles. These are virgin Polyesters, Polyamides (nylons), Polyurethanes (Elastane), eptfe (waterproof membranes)
1st Priority Action: Use Natural Fibers (Wool, Hemp, Cotton)
2nd Priority Action: Use Plant-based/Bio-synthetics (Bio-Polyamide)
GARMENT DESIGN
STRATEGY #2 - ZERO MICROPLASTICS TEXTILES
Elimination / Reduction of microplastic released content from our textiles. These are recycled synthetics and bio-based synthetics.
1st Priority Action: Biodegradable Fibers (Wool, Hemp, Cotton)
2nd Priority Action: reduce to a minimum recycled and bio-based synthetics (bio-polyamide, recycled content)
3rd Priority Action: Textile innovation. Non-releasing or biodegradable, bio-based synthetics.
